PACU to Implement Voice ID Authentication Soon!

At Piedmont Advantage Credit Union, we strive to make your banking experience not only more secure and personal but also more convenient.
That’s why, at the beginning of 2026, we are implementing Voice ID, a new voice authentication service.
What Is Voice ID?
Voice ID is a secure, fast and easy way to verify your identity when you call us. Instead of answering security questions or giving a password, Voice ID uses the unique features of your voice to verify you in seconds.
This technology analyzes the various characteristics of your voice to create a unique voiceprint, enabling our system to recognize you quickly whenever you call us.
Why Are We Introducing Voice ID?
Voice ID helps us serve you better by:
- Speeding up verification – saves up to a minute per call.
- Enhancing security – your voiceprint is virtually impossible to fake or duplicate.
It’s just another way we’re working to make banking easier and more secure—on your terms.
How It Works
- Enroll by phone: When you call our Member Relationship Team, Lending Team or Collections Team at 800.433.7228, you will be automatically enrolled. Should you wish, you can opt out when speaking with a representative.
- Get verified: On future calls, the Voice ID system will verify your voice in seconds.
- Stay protected: If a fraudster tries to mimic your voice or use a recording, the system will detect inconsistencies and flag the call, triggering additional security protocols.
Voice ID is powered by advanced technology that runs in the background of live conversations. It continuously learns your voice over time—even adapting when you have a cold or your voice changes slightly.
Your Privacy Matters
Below are a few key points to help clarify how Voice ID protects your information.
- Is it secure? Yes. Your voiceprint is stored as an encrypted digital pattern—never as a recording—and can’t be used outside our system.
- Is there a charge to enroll in Voice ID? No. Voice ID is a free service provided to enhance security for your accounts at PACU.
- Can I opt out? Of course. You can opt out at any time by letting one of our representatives know that you wish to opt out of Voice ID. Once you opt out of Voice ID, you will need to use alternative identity verification procedures every time you call.
- What if I change my mind after I opt out and want to re-enroll in Voice ID? No problem! Just let one of our representatives know you wish to enroll the next time you call in.
- Can someone else mimic my voice and trick the Voice ID? Voice ID analyzes over thousands of your unique vocal features, which make up your voiceprint, making it extremely difficult for someone to successfully mimic your voice and trick the system, even if they are using voice recordings or AI.
Voice ID is one more way we’re working to keep your information secure—while making your experience even smoother.
